On Wednesday, March 25 in The Upper Room Chapel, Rev. Sara Thomas, Deputy General Secretary of Discipleship Ministries, preached from John 14: 1-7.
In the scripture passage, Thomas asks Jesus, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going. How can we know the way?”
Jesus is quick to reply to Thomas, saying, “I am the way, the truth, and the life…”
So, as followers of Jesus, we are to understand “Jesus as the very way, a way opening us up to the life-giving love of God,” said Rev. Thomas.
Rev. Thomas also emphasized that the way of Jesus is the way of relationship and encouraged us to connect with others and to hear each other’s stories.
As a communal response to the Word, the congregation said together a litany from The God We Can Know website and were then led in prayer by Lisa Edge, who works with Leadership Ministries.
If you are ever in Nashville, Tennessee on a Wednesday, be sure to join us for morning chapel services at 8:30. This special time is not just for staff! We invite all of our Upper Room family . . . and that includes YOU.
