Recently, staff of The Upper Room gathered to sign Thanksgiving cards for over 500 top donors and friends in an event donor relations manager Amy Skerratt called “Fondue for Gratitude.”
During the time together, individuals representing every department of The Upper Room sat around tables sharing stories of gratitude—and chocolate and cheese fondue—while they signed cards to people who make this global ministry possible.
“There is nothing more important to us than pausing to thank the people who give us prayer and financial support,” Amy says. “Today was a fun way to remind staff how generous donors impact our work and remind them that we are immensely grateful.”
Sherry Elliott, executive director of Interpretation and Development, adds, “The real power of gratitude is that it helps us notice every day gifts and creates a spirit of community that gives us strength. We give thanks for all those who engage in this ministry of prayer and spiritual formation with us.”
I thank my God every time I mention you in my prayers. I’m thankful for all of you every time I pray, and it’s always a prayer full of joy. I’m glad because of the way you have been my partners in the ministry of the gospel from the time you first believed it until now.
