The past two weeks have brought diverse voices and worship experiences to The Upper Room Chapel, a place where people worship, pray, learn, and grow.
On Wednesday, April 21, Rev. William Chaney proclaimed the Good News, reminding all gathered for worship that “falling in love with Jesus calls us to work on behalf of the oppressed.”
As Rev. Chaney preached, Linda Furtado, Marketing Manager/Technology Specialist with Upper Room Books, sketched, seeking inspiration from the scriptures, songs, and words shared. A photo of her drawing is below.
Just this past Wednesday, April 29, we were led in Chapel by Leadership Ministries, a division of Discipleship Ministries focused on strengthening United Methodist Congregations. The service was interwoven with songs and meditations based on United Methodist Scriptural Values and Song. John 3:16-17, Matthew 22:37-39, Micah 6:6-8, Matthew 16:24 and Matthew 28:19-20 offered scriptural truths about redemptive possibility, love of God and neighbor, doing the right thing, surrendering to God’s call, and inviting others to Jesus Christ.
If you are ever in Nashville, Tennessee on a Wednesday, be sure to join us for morning chapel services at 8:30. This special time is not just for staff! We invite all of our Upper Room family . . . and that includes YOU.
