The Upper Room is often blessed to have dedicated and talented interns and college students who spend a summer or school semester—or two—working in various areas of our ministry. In the summer of 2015, we have had six interns, and we want to publicly say “thank you” to each of them for the work and energy they each brought to our Nashville, Tennessee offices.
Today, we celebrate and thank Tom Dearduff!
Tom Dearduff has been working with The Upper Room for several months as a part-time temp. Not an intern, yet still a student! Tom works with the Interpretation and Development team where he is building digital classrooms for e-learning, writing articles for the Voices blog, and helping out with the Academy podcast. In addition to his work here, Tom writes for the United Christian Ashram (christianashram.org).
Tom will graduate this December from Belmont University with a bachelor’s degree in Religion and the Arts. He is hoping to continue his education at Princeton Theological Seminary next fall. Tom pursues the intersections between culture, creativity, and Christ, wanting to pragamatize these passions as a professor of theology and humanities. He enjoys traveling to new places, listening to Eric Whitacre on a rainy day, dancing with his niece, Emily, to the soundtrack of Mary Poppins, and afternoon tea.
He is an invaluable addition to the team, and we look forward to seeing him around as he continues to work part-time to the end of the year.
THANK YOU TOM!
Coming soon: more summer intern features.
